We packed a lot of fun into our day! I was hoping to have our ladybug release today but after searching all over town yesterday and finding out that the ladybug suppliers were having trouble filling orders this season due to late frosts we were without ladybugs. I had to think of something fun to replace my lesson with. So we decided to save some bugs from gelatin blocks. Oh, the squishy, ooze through our fingers and the joy of finding a bug we get to keep made up for the disappointment of not having real ladybugs to experience. Some children were very deliberate in their exploration and choose to take their time and use a variety of tools to extract their insect while others enjoyed the feel of the cool gelatin and dove in with their hands. While I was mixing up the gelatin I made a few extra molds just for exploring. I put them out with water colors and pipettes and the children had a ball investigating what would happen. Another highlight of our morning was the Art Show. We all had a great time hunting down our masterpieces!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
