We had another wonderful day together exploring and celebrating Valentines and God's total love for us. The boys and girls really enjoyed a special Valentine's Day science experiment. Any time we work with baking soda and vinegar it is a hit and today I decided to mix it up just a little. Yesterday I made a mixture of baking soda, water and food coloring. As I formed the mixture into little balls I added a secret surprise heart to each ball. They set out to dry over night and this morning were hard as rocks. I told the children that these were special "rocks" and that they had to use the vinegar and eye droppers to melt the rocks away and discover what the hidden treasure was. They then got to keep the little hearts inside. This proved to be a ton of fun. I just love the awe and wonder as each student discovers, explores and experiments with the items on their trays. Our Valentine Party was so much fun! The children enjoyed a lunch of heart shaped sandwiches, strawberries and letter pretzels. We also decorated delicious cookies and listened to a beautiful story of God's love for us. Very fitting for Valentine's Day. Special thanks to the mothers who coordinated and provided our lunch and special time together.

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
