Happy Mother's Day to you all. And a very special Thank You for all the wonderful treats the teachers were blessed with this week. It is truly a blessing to be a part of these little lives. I love every moment of it!
After all the talk about worms on Wednesday, it was high time the children had some real worms to investigate. Yesterday I went to Walmart to buy a tub of worms. Yes, Walmart sells worms. And let me tell you the real worms did not disappoint. We began with a little circle time and discussed how these worms were alive and real. They were one of God's creatures and we need to treat them with kind and gentle hands. We discussed how it would hurt the worm if we poked or pulled them. Once we were all on the same page the exploration began. I must say I was pretty impressed that nearly every student picked up a worm at least for one brief moment. We checked out their segmented body and learned how the worm expands and contracts their body in order to move. The children were given a worm or two to take home. They understand these worms are supposed to live in our gardens and they will die if left in the cup. They were very excited to have a worm of their very own. And don't think I left school empty handed. There were a few left that I brought home for my own kids. They enjoyed them as much as the Owls did.

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
