Our prehistoric study continued today. The children have loved listening to all kinds of dinosaur stories, playing dinosaur games, and growling at every chance they got. We finger painted during art and once the pieces are dry we will cut them into dinosaur footprints. The kids loved mixing the paint with their hands and before long most looked like Smurfs! Our dinosaur friends tagged along for recess again. We spent some time today discussing how scientist learn about dinosaurs. We talked about fossils and how they are evidence left behind from long ago. We strapped on our thinking caps and pretended that a chocolate chip cookie was a rock full of chocolate fossils. We used tooth picks as our tools to extract the chocolate chip fossils from the cookie rock. A delicate process which the children enjoyed. After several minutes of chipping away everyone wanted to eat their specimen. Looking forward to our Fiesta Celebration next Wednesday. Information about the Fiesta Float Parade was sent home today in totes. Parade will begin just after drop off around the upper mall similar to the Halloween Parade. See you then!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
