Today we had a wonderful time exploring the world of gingerbread people. We counted gingerbread men, patterned with them, painted them and even traced our bodies to create life sized gingerbread people. These fine motor tools are pickle grabbers. I got them at a kitchen store and the moment I saw them I knew the children would love them. They are a bit tricky for little hands to maneuver but the children were fascinated and worked hard to figure out the best way to make them work. They nicknamed the tool, "The Claw". So much fun! The children were very excited to trace a life sized shape of their own body to be decorated as a gingerbread person. We got very creative with markers, glue and buttons. After lunch a few of the girls decided to head over to the block area and built very special cribs for their babies while the rest of the class enjoyed pretending to be bakers with play dough. We rolled and pressed cookies together. Looking forward to more creativity and fun on Friday!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
