We continued with more Happy Monster fun today. We had a great time creating our own paint blot monsters. We did and experiment where we "grew" our own balloon monster and had a wonderful time in Motor Skills. During art today we worked on adding eyes to the watercolor monsters we made on Wednesday as well as creating some amazing paint blot monsters. It was fun to choose several colors and squish them together. What surprising faces they made when we opened them up! We also had fun today playing house. We ate some pretty interesting meals in the kitchen, had a picnic with babies on the floor and even called home. I can't tell you how often the children go to the display of family photos and pull them aside, tell friends about who is in the photo, or even just carry you close so that you are there with them. Precious! We wrapped up our Monster Week by "growing" our own monster to take home. We put a small amount of vinegar in the bottom of a liter bottle. Then used a funnel to add some baking soda to our balloon. We then put the balloon over the opening of the bottle and tipped the baking soda down into the vinegar. The addition instantly produced a bubbly reaction which inflated our balloon. We were surprised you could inflate a balloon without blowing it up yourself! Next week be ready for Pumpkins, Pumpkins and more Pumpkins!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
