We had a wonderful morning together learning about patterns and working on sorting skills. I have this big package of little X's and O's that I picked up a while back. Today we opened the box and talked about patterns. We began by sorting the X's and O's into separate piles. Then we tried to think of some patterns we could create. Some were simple XOXOXO and others took it a step further with some more complicated patterning. There was some serious thinking going on as the boys tried to figure out what came next in the various patterns. Once the boys had time to explore sorting and patterning I took out the playdough and we began burying our X's and O's, and digging them out. A few of the boys decided we should have a bakery and made "cookies" out of the playdough. As the boys played, I was able to call them over to the counter one at a time to work on a special art project. We used a warm griddle to melt crayons on wax paper. Once finished they made beautiful sun catchers for our windows. We were also treated to a wonderful lunch! The boys enjoyed heart shaped sandwiches, fruit kabobs, and jello! So creative! A very special THANK YOU goes out to the parents that put together such a great party and to those who were able to join us. The boys and I had a wonderful time! Happy Valentine's Day! "Owl" Always Love You!!!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
