Welcome to Happy Monster Week! The Owls were very excited to explore all the new invitations to learning that were sent out this morning. We worked on counting, fine motor skills, letters and even introduced magnets for exploration. For Art today we used pipettes and liquid water colors to make one of a kind monsters! Once they dry we will add as many eyes as we think our monster needs. Look for these to come home soon. Many artists took to the easel today as well. They painted their own version of a happy monster using a toothbrush instead of a paint brush. What fun! We finished our day with some exciting letter and magnet learning. The children were given a letter and we talked about the sound it makes. Then I gave them all little magnetic disks. They covered their letter with the disks and then came the twist...a magnetic wand to clean up the disks in one swoop! This was the most exciting part and kept us interested for a good while. We traded letters and worked on both upper and lower case letters over and over again.

My favorite pic is the one of all the kids at the table doing magnets...so sweet.

They loved that part. It was like the magnets were magic.

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
