During story time we discussed some facts we knew about robots.
"Robots don't eat food."
"Robots have batteries."
"Robots don't have feelings."
"They are not alive."
"Robots don't think for themselves."
"Robots help us."
"Robots beep."
Next, we thought it might be fun to pretend to be a robot. So I passed out a colorful sticker to each child, our "on" button. Then we sat down, pushed our "on" button, tuned our listening ears and enjoyed another fun story, If You're a Robot and You Know It... by David A. Carter. It was an instant hit and needed to be reread immediately! Not only did they enjoy the song but the book is a pop up book and the robots move throughout the story.
