The children had the most wonderful time playing with dinosaurs, learning about the different types of dinosaurs, and literally walking like dinosaurs for our art project today. I had a number of new offerings this morning from fine motor work, counting, science explorations, and the addition of several dinosaurs to our block center. We all enjoyed a few "roars"! During our art time we made a class mural. We were very excited to take off our shoes and socks and put on some dinosaur foot plates. They were dipped in paint, then we walked across the paper leaving behind a trail of dinosaur footprints. Once this is dry we will cut it into smaller pieces for each child to take home a section. Lots of giggles! We also had the opportunity to make pretty little bracelets with some new plastic bracelet rings I found at Michael's yesterday. These are the perfect size and so much fun to make. During recess we decided to take our dinosaurs out to play. Some took their dinosaurs for a swing, others for a trip down the slides, and others just wanted to play in the mulch with their new friends. Lots of creative play today just by adding the simple element of a dinosaur. We finished our day with a fun little science experiment. We learned that dinosaurs hatched from eggs. So we each got a couple of "dinosaur eggs" to hatch. We used vinegar to try to crack our eggs open. Every one was excited to fine a baby dinosaur inside their egg which they were allowed to keep and bring home if they wanted. Comments are closed.

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
