Spray bottles are an excellent workout for little hands. This morning we went out into the garden with our spray bottles. Our goal was to spray away the alphabet that I had written on the cement with chalk. The children loved using the spray bottles and found the challenge hard work. Even after the alphabet was cleared away they were not ready to turn them in so we spent time watering the plants and trees as well. Some found more success using two hands but either way it is a great muscle builder. After mastering the spray bottles we went inside to continue using this new skill. We filled a spray bottle with some liquid water color paint and made beautiful bat silhouette paintings. Our fine motor workout did not stop there. The children requested some play dough time. We use a ton of small manipulatives to bury and dig out of the dough. We also had the opportunity to celebrate our first birthday of the year. Happy Birthday sweet girl! Next week we will begin exploring another interesting creature, the spider! Have a wonderful weekend.

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
