I will see you all tomorrow. Our end of the year picnic will be held in the ravine beginning at 12 noon. Bring a blanket to sit on or a few camping chairs and a lunch to share with your child. Let me know if you have any questions.
When the children arrived this morning the classroom lights were off, there was a tent scene set up in the Dramatic Play space and there were crickets chirping. It was nighttime at the campground. Everyone dove right in. They were beyond excited to have a campground in our room. The light table became our grill. It was so much fun to watch the boys and girls go camping! For snack we had to enjoy a themed treat, Smores! Not by fire but by mini crock pot. The boys and girls crushed their graham crackers in a plastic bag. Once they were ready they put their jumbo marshmallow on a skewer and dipped it in the melted chocolate. We then put the chocolate covered marshmallow into the bag of crumbs to coat our marshmallow. I think everyone thought that was their favorite snack of the year! Next we were off to the camping experience that was set up for us to explore in the lower mall area. Each class in the school had a time to rotate in during the morning. There was dramatic play, bugs to hunt for, real crickets to observe, reading with flashlights in a dark tent, fishing in a sensory tub and worms in another. Everyone found something to do and really enjoyed their time. Out on the playground we found some large river rocks that we could paint with water. Just a little something extra. I'm having a hard time believing that tomorrow is our last day. This had been such a wonderful class to work with and I love each of these kiddos with all of my heart. I am so proud of all they have learned. These kids are going big places!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
