The boys and girls had another action packed day! We began with center time and even got into some very exciting dramatic play. At one point this morning a few of the girls discovered some dress up clothes. These have been available since day one but were only noticed today. Classmates dress up as a police officer and firefighter. With the addition of the telephone this quickly morphed into a game of calling 911, shouting "There's an emergency!" and some running around the room. We then decided we needed a fire truck and moved some chairs around to create a fire truck we could all climb into. This cycle repeated over and over. Almost everyone got in on the action. I took a quick little video I will send through the GroupMe app. Unfortunately the blog does not support video. After snack we headed to Motor Skills. Things were a bit muddy outside so class was inside today. The children enjoyed running, jumping, and playing games with Ms. Amy. When we returned to the classroom Tootsie had brought us an exciting experiment. We each received a lab coat and got ready for a creative sensory inspired science experiment. Tootsie gave each child a container of gelatin which had spider parts stuck inside. There were two body parts, 8 legs and several eyes. Our job was to dive right in and extract the body parts and rebuild our spider. The cold gelatin was fun to poke, squeeze, and dig into. Our trays contained any messes. By the end of our science time we had all rebuilt our spiders! Who knows, we may have some future scientific researchers or doctors in our class. Once we cleaned up our experiment we made spiderwebs with paint and marbles. After reading a spider story, Ms. Kristen had some fun spiderweb glasses we got to try on. We finished off our morning with playground time and lunch. Next week we will be learning about bats. There might even be a bat cave in our room where we can read bat books with flashlights. Can't wait! Have a wonderful weekend!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
