I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and enjoy your weekend time together. Next week we will be learning all about apples! See you then!
We were busy with all kinds of shape learning today. The children loved all of the new games set out this week. I think the favorite was the shape puzzles or the bee sorting (bees live in hexagon honey combs). We had a really fun shape themed snack today (I love a themed snack!). We explored the shape of our food and sampled a variety of shapely treats. After music we returned to find Tootsie sitting at the big table. She had a shape sorting game in her bag for us to play. She also brought us each a glue bottle. We had the opportunity to practice controlling the pressure we apply to a glue bottle to make dots vs puddles. This really take some muscle and self control. Once we got the hang of things we used our glue to make a circle collage! While we were busy with our collages, Ms. Amanda (our classroom aide) hid some shapes across the hall in the D Wing. Once we cleaned up we headed over to see how many shapes we could spot. We were excellent shape finders and collected them in no time. After all of that work we needed to run around outside and get the wiggles out! As many of you know, my daughter is in her freshman year of college and this is Family Weekend. We are flying up to Kansas Friday morning so I will not be in school. Ms. Lindy will be teaching the class. She is looking forward to learning more about shapes with the children. Because I will not me in school there will be no blog post this Friday.

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
