The boys and girls had another great morning. We are focusing on farm life this week. The children were eager to explore new centers and play together. During circle time we sang Old Mac Donald and every child got to have a farm animal puppet and help us sing the songs with the correct animal sounds. We created beautiful barns during our art time today. Everyone painted their barns a bright red. They really came out cute! This class loves table top puzzles. The simple peg puzzles or chunky block puzzles are always a hit with the kids. Today I thought I would bring out a challenging 24 piece floor puzzle. To my surprise the children loved it and were quite good at fitting the pieces together and working as a team to complete it. A few children actually completed it two or three times. I think I will be bringing more floor puzzles in for them to work on. After music we had the opportunity to visit with the Tobin Center enrichment program again. Today's topic was dance and movement. The kids had a wonderful time and followed directions so well. The instructors were very impressed that we were the youngest kids in the school. I'll attach a few videos from there visit in the GroupMe. We finished our morning with some play dough time. The children used green play dough as the grass and were given a tray of sticks, gems, farm animals, and other trinkets to work with. There was some great story telling taking place at the table as they played. We will continue our farm fun on Friday. It is also the first Friday of the month so wear those school t-shirts.

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
