Then it was time to bring out the real worms. Every year I have one or two students that refuse to touch or hold the worms. Not this year! I was so proud of the girls! Every single one of them held a worm in their hands. They really enjoyed the experience. As they became more comfortable with the worms I had to remind them that although the worms can not speak or tell us if we are hurting them we need to use very gentle touch and not pull the worms bodies. It was so much fun watching them overcome fears and delight in a new experience.
Looking ahead to next Wednesday....
Our Easter Party will take place from 11:45-12:30 in the classroom. If the pollen is any better we might try for a picnic outside. Some other classes in the school have opted for a party off campus but we will have a regular day with plenty of Easter fun sprinkled in. Drop off will be normal time. We will dye Easter Eggs in the morning and decorate them. Then we will have an egg hunt to kick off our party at 11:45. Please provide 8 treat filled eggs for the hunt. We will decorate paper bags during the day to place our eggs in.
Lunch will be provided at the party. Pick up will remain the same. Extended day is still offered if your child is enrolled in it and wants to stay until 2:15.
Let me know if you have any questions.
