Each child had a clean diaper, a large water dropper, and a cup of water. We made predictions about how many drops of water the diapers could hold. Then we began counting. We were astonished at how much water the diapers could hold. After several minutes some of us tired of the droppers and just poured our entire cup of water into the diaper. We then picked the diapers up and turned them over expecting the water to fall out. When it didn't we wondered where did it go? We knew it was in the diaper, could feel the weight of the diaper but when we squeezed them no water came out. So we tore them open and were amazed to find what looked like fake snow! The water absorbing polymers in the inner lining of the diapers soak up the water and look like snow. It was fun to touch too!
Friday will be our last class of 2023! We will have a pajama day and enjoy our class party at the end of the morning. We will be celebrating Jesus' birthday with a special lunch (provided) and cupcakes. Please bring a wrapped book for our story book exchange. The children will all go home with a new book to add to their collections. Looking forward to all the fun! See you Friday.
