Thank you for all of the wonderful Teacher Appreciation gifts and sweet words. It has been a blessing working with your children this year.
This morning we explored the world of bugs. The children also enjoyed some pancakes and waffles in our dramatic play area. During art today we worked on some special Mother's Day gifts. I don't want to spoil any surprises but the children worked hard and produced some beautiful gifts. I'm sure you are going to love them! As the children rotated in to make their special gifts with me the rest of the class was busy building. Ms. Amanda and I both commented how much the class has grown and matured as a whole. If you go back to the early blogs this year I don't think anyone touched the blocks in a meaningful way (not just dumping) until the Spring. Today they were happy building towers together and discussing the parts they wanted added, a bedroom, a set of stairs to get up to the second floor, a tower to see far away. It is a real joy to be able to sit back, listen, and watch their interactions. In Music Class, Ms. Rachel came dressed as a Ring Master and they played carnival games to the tempo of various songs. The children worn masks and loved every minute. I have these two cute Roly-Poly Playgrounds I had purchased for my kids Easter baskets many years ago (Bass Pro Shops) so on the way back from Music we took a little detour out to the preschool garden to hunt for Roly-Polys. After everyone found one we headed back to the room to put them in the playground containers and observe. It was fun to see them run into each other, climb the slides, and fall off the top deck and roll into a ball. I will see you all Friday morning. I will be there for drop off but will need to head out around 10am to decorate for my daughter's prom that evening. If we finish fast enough I will be back in time for dismissal.

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
