"Time to bake the cookies."
"Put them in the oven."
"Be careful, it's hot!"
"Set the timer"
"They take as long as the timer says."
"They are not done yet."
"I need a dress up apron."
"I smell the cookies burning. Hurry!"
It is hard to believe that is December already. Time is flying by. Today the owls were very busy baking many batches of Christmas cookies. They are really enjoying the pretend play and take their roles very seriously. We had aprons to wear, cookie sheets, cookie cutters, spatulas, and even oven mitts. This made for a rich imaginative environment in which to play and explore. Overheard in the bakery today... "Time to bake the cookies." "Put them in the oven." "Be careful, it's hot!" "Set the timer" "They take as long as the timer says." "They are not done yet." "I need a dress up apron." "I smell the cookies burning. Hurry!" In between all of our pretend baking we also had a chance to decorate our own gingerbread man with paint and glitter as well as ice real gingerbread cookies and add our own sprinkles. Delicious! Here is a peek at a few more activities and games the kids participated in today.

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
