What a fun morning! We enjoyed our centers, chapel time, art, and even played Bingo for the first time. During circle time we each received a bingo card with animal pictures. Every one put on their listening ears and turned on their brains as we listened to the various animal sounds. The kids had so much fun identifying the sounds and finding the animals on their cards. We didn't bother with bingo markers as the point was to listen not compete with one another. Definitely a hit with this bunch! Once we finished with that we voted in a pole about who has visited a farm and who has not. Again, a great little name recognition game for all. Everyone enjoyed the farm themed playdough trays on Wednesday so much we brought it back out today. Playdough is such a great fine motor activity but by adding other objects it transforms into a valuable language activity as well. The discussion that took place about the animals, mamas and babies, cutting grass, and what the animals eat was awesome! The children also enjoyed painting some pigs in the mud. It almost turned into a contest to see who could cover their pig in the most mud. We finished off our morning with a fun guessing game. Each child received a bag with a riddle and an animal hiding inside. We read the riddles and worked together to guess what might be in the bag. Everyone did a great job! Next week will be another exciting week for the children. We will transform the classroom into a vet clinic. Feel free to bring a stuffed pet or photo of a pet to share with the class. Enjoy your weekend!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
