Our snipping efforts went home in our totes.
The boys and girls explored centers and revisited activities they enjoyed from Wednesday. The tower building continued. For snack we enjoyed cheese sticks and fruit and grain bars. We did take this opportunity to again work on our knife skills. The children are really enjoying this new responsibility. When we returned from Motor Skills we learned that many of the bats in our area love to eat mosquitoes. So we used our scissors to snip cutting strips of mosquitoes. Did you know that a bat can eat up to 6000 mosquitoes a night? They are God's exterminators. Our snipping efforts went home in our totes. We followed our scissor skills with some science. Today we experimented with baking soda and vinegar. When combined these two ingredients cause a chemical reaction which produces bubbles. We hid little bats under a layer of baking soda and then used our pipettes to drop colored vinegar on the baking soda. This instant chemical reaction was so much fun to create. We worked for almost a half an hour doing it over and over again. After all of that work it was time to head outside and run off some energy! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Next week, we will be learning about Happy Monsters (Feelings). I know it will be a lot of fun for everyone. See you next Wednesday!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
