Today was the day! We were going to make homemade ice cream. We were all very excited. We had a recipe and followed it to the letter. Unfortunately, our ice cream experiment did not turn into ice cream. We were a little disappointed but still enjoyed drinking up our efforts. It was actually a really good lesson in try, try again. Scientists often fail the first time they attempt an experiment but they don't give up. They learn from each new trial. Here is a screen shot of the recipe we used. Perhaps your family would like to try the experiment at home and share your results with us. When our experiment was cleaned up we decided to paint our own ice cream instead. We also continued to enjoy the ice cream centers around the room. There was a lot of dramatic play happening and a lot of ice cream begin sold at the ice cream stand. During lunch we are often interested in what others have in their lunch boxes. We compare to see who has the same foods. We have turned it into sort of a game. We look to see who has a connection to another friend, something in common. The children are getting really good at discovering who they have a connection with. Ask your child about our little game. Next week we will dive into the science of magnets! Lots of fun to come! Have a wonderful weekend. Stay healthy!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
