Overheard while painting...
"I really am an artist!"
"I like when the paint colors mix."
"This is so much fun."
"I know my mommy is going to love this valentine."
"Can I paint another?"
We had a busy morning full of Valentine fun. The children enjoyed several Valentine themed activities, a Donut Shop in dramatic play, and painting on the easel. Painting on a vertical surface has great fine and gross motor benefits. We have used the easel this year with stickers, crayons, chalk, paint markers, dot markers, and stampers but today was the first time we painted on the easel. Each child had their own paint time. It was a highlight of the morning. The children loved it and really took their time covering every inch of their papers. The final products are just beautiful. Overheard while painting... "I really am an artist!" "I like when the paint colors mix." "This is so much fun." "I know my mommy is going to love this valentine." "Can I paint another?" There were several friends that wanted to break out the playdough so we added some little acrylic heart gems and got busy. We are all looking forward to Friday. We will have our class party at lunch time. We will exchange Valentine cards and treats and enjoy a special lunch together. Lunch will be provided so just pack a water bottle. I hear Tootsie has a special Valentine treat for all of the children! See you Friday!

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
