Although we were a small class today we didn't let that stop us from having fun! Our little vets were busy tending to their animals and at time even each other. On the playground the boys and girls have been enjoying chalk drawing. We decided to bring that idea in today. We moved the table out of the way and put some pet themed stencils under some paper and used chalk to make rubbings. Every one will get a piece of the rubbing to take home. As we prepared to head to Motor Skills I asked each child to choose their favorite pet. I told them that one of the most important responsibilities for a pet owner is to give their pets exercise. We talked about taking pets on walks, playing fetch with them, going to the dog park, and even just letting them out in our back yards. We tied leashes around our pets and decided to take them on a walk as we went up to class. They were so cute "walking" their pets up the stairs and through the hallways. We got several compliments from passerby's. We ran into Ms. Valerie as she was picking her class up from Motor Skills. She was delighted to meet our pets! The kitties made her sneeze! Back in the room we got to work on some large 24 piece area puzzles. I am so impressed at how hard the kids work at these. They are not easy! I also love how proud the kids are when they finish one. It was a blustery but fun filled day. I hope you all have safe travels and make great memories during our Spring Break next week. We return on March 23. We will be learning all about backyard birds. We may even spot a few when we are on the playground.

Why Blog? Here you will find little snippets of our days together. When my children were in preschool and would come home I would always ask, "So, what did you do today?". All they ever said was, "Played." That didn't tell me much. I hope this blog will be a place to share what we have done and help you ask more directed questions of your child. You will see first hand just what we do after you kiss your little one goodbye in the morning. It will also be a great place to visit and see just how much your child has grown and learned throughout the year. Archives
